What is a Pap test?

This a metal made or a plastic speculum is attached in the vagina during the sample collection and thus it helps in the opening of the two adjacent walls of the vagina so that the vagina opens up and thus the collection of the cells from the cervix becomes very much easy. A brush or spatula is used for the collection of the cells from the cervix.

However, abnormal pap is not always definitive to have cancer also. However, abnormal Pap can surely tell you about the infection that is building up in the cervix and also in the vagina. Need for the Pap test
Pap smear test during pregnancy or before pregnancy is very much required to ensure a good growing environment for the baby. However, most of the gynecologists suggest carrying the Pap test as soon as they get to their active reproductive stage in their life. And the test should be done in a regular interval to properly monitor the condition of the cells of the vagina and the cervix.

The Pap smear is a much painless and it is devoid of any kind of proper side effect. Although patients might feel some type of discomfort during the collection of the cell samples, which is minor.
