As
part of the caring process in relation to a new born baby they would be craving
for some well-deserved sleep. The sleep is indeed important and at the same
time parents need to ensure the best newborn sleeping options for their little one. There is another school of
thought that suggests that babies should be laid on the backs and put to sleep.
This goes on to decrease the chances of sudden infant syndrome. Most times
babies would fall asleep on your stomach or a soft blanket but at the same time
the risk of SIDS increases considerably.
A
lot of thought has gone in to the process of making kids sleep on the back. It
does encourage the parents to keep their babies on the back when they sleep.
Once such a strategy has been adopted the number of deaths has gone on to
decrease considerably as well. When babies are known on to lie on the stomach
there does arise a case where they take in more of their carbon dioxide. This
does go on to become trapped between the mattress and the face. It could be
very well possible that they do not have the strength in order to turn on their
heads and for this reason their head will be suffocated. This has gone on to
become one of the best new born sleeping
positions in recent times.
At
the same time you should not only put new born at the back while sleeping. It
is suggested that you should continue to do it for the first year of your life.
The precise reason being that the risk of sudden infant syndrome decreases
considerably. The risk is all the more high during the first 6 months, so you
need to adopt an attitude of caution at this point of time.
There
are a set of parents who are concerned that their babies are going to formulate
a flat head if they make the baby sleep at the back. But studies do have a
different point to showcase as some of them pointed out that sleeping on the
back would lead to flat headiness. On the other side of the coin when you sleep
on the back the benefits tend to outnumber the risks. The onus would be on the
parents to move the heads of the baby on a particular side and when they are
being put to sleep. The obvious fact is that they would face the other side
when you are making them sleep. All these facts point to an aesthetic nature.
If you undertake all these ventures the chances of a flat spot developing as
well. it is suggested that when babies are being put to sleep parents should go
on to check on them. They should verify
the fact that the babies have gone on to roll on their stomach when they
are put to sleep.
So
one of the best sleeping position would be on the back.
