Are
you planning to undertake douching while pregnant? The answer has to be a strict no. The process of douching would
mean that you clean the vagina with water or a host of other fluids like iodine
or vinegar. The liquid is then squirt into a nozzle or tube and then on to the
vagina it is inserted. As per medical experts no woman whether they are
pregnant or not should go on to douche as well. But this is not the case as douche vaginal is existent on a large
scale. Women in the age group of 15 to 44 years are more prone to douching.
If
you douche once in a month the chances of becoming pregnant does become a lot
difficult. On the other hand if you douche after sex it will not help you in
becoming pregnant as well. The thing for sure is that douching would go on to
increase the chance of ectopic pregnancy that does make it difficult for you to
conceive in the future as well. If you douche a lot during pregnancy the
chances of an early delivery can occur as well.
This
brings us to the question that in spite of the pitfalls why do women still go
on to douche. A study was conducted on 141 women in Los Angeles and a question
was asked to them on why they douche. It was found out that 6 out of 10 African
American women went on to douche .When you compare it to the Latina woman it
stood at 4 out of 10. So it is quite clear that the former tends to douche more
than their counterparts. What was indeed a matter of great surprise that these
women picked up the quality from their mothers?
Most
of the women, who went on to do it, were of the opinion that they did it for
good hygiene. But you need to be aware of the fact that douching goes on to
disturb the balance of good and bad bacteria in our vagina.
Now
the question is how you would clean your vagina. In case if you are bathing you
are wash it with warm water. But from the inside, you can let the vagina clean
by the process of formation of mucus. You need to be aware of the fact that a
healthy vagina will not smell like a garden of roses. But you need to get in
touch with your doctor if you notice a thick vaginal discharge. This could be
with or without a smile. In some cases swelling or redness could be found in
the region of the vagina as well.
So
from the discussion till now, douching during any stage in the life cycle of a
woman is not a desired outcome. It goes on to alter the balance of good and bad
bacteria. Coupled with the fact that the chances of infections would increase
at a large scale.
