Pregnancy is
a very critical yet very beautiful part of a woman's life. This is the time
when a woman or a wife becomes a mother. Therefore, it is very important to
make this time perfect for every side. There are various stages of this process
and every process has its own significance. A simple mistake or a wrong
decision can turn out to be a disaster. So before taking any step one must
think twice. One should always consult a gynecologist from the very beginning.
It can prevent many unwanted situations and minimize complications regarding
pregnancy.
The first
stage is to ensure that you are pregnant or not. Various myths are there about
being pregnant. Missing periods for 1 month, feeling dizzy, vomiting, nausea
and etc do not really mean that you're pregnant. There are various hormones in
our body and they do not always act the same, which causes problems like this.
There are different types of pregnancytests available in order to ensure if you're actually pregnant or not. One
can test at home or at doctor's clinic. There later is safer and will have more
accuracy.
•
Home Pregnancy Test: Pregnancy kits are widely available in the market. It
can be used up to 4 days before your missed period. It should be kept in mind
that testing too early can give false negative results. They are available in
digital and standard stick form and give 95% accurate result. But there are
some specific ways to use it.
It is
preferable to take the first urine in the morning because at that time the
urine and hormone levels will be more concentrated. The urine should be
collected in a clean and dry container. The kit has a urine sample collector
where you have to put the urine sample drop by drop or in some cases, you can
also dip the kit into the urine sample. After putting the urine sample in the
kit you have to wait for about 3 to 5 minutes and keep the kit on a flat
surface throughout the test. The kit should not be kept upward or downward,
otherwise it can give a false result.
• Clinical Urine or Blood Serum
Test: These are the types of pregnancy tests at doctors
clinic and have more accuracy. The urine test is same as the home test but it
can eliminate possible errors in the procedure and gives more accurate results.
Blood Serum
Test actually detects the presence of hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin
hormone in the blood which is released by developing placenta and the traces
are found after implantation of the embryo in the uterus. Clinical tests are
more expensive and take more time than a home pregnancy test. However,
sometimes a retest is needed.
Conclusion: These tests hold a serious
significance and are needed to detect the pregnancy. Similar symptoms of
pregnancy can occur due to other reasons also. So it's better to take a
confirmatory test before being sure that you're pregnant.
