The menstrual
cycle is a regular change that occurs in the body of a woman that is required
to get pregnant. This occurs in a series of activities and the events occur in
a cycle starting the first day of menstruation. Various hormones affect this
process. Therefore, any slight disturbance in the hormonal level can cause a
problem in the cycle. The menstruation and menstrual cycle depends on various
aspects other than hormones. The food we eat, the actions we perform also have
a good effect on it. So, to maintain a healthy menstrual cycle one must follow
a diet.
Hormones and menstrual cycle
Hormones are the
chemical messengers of our body, which controls a number of actions. The
reproductive hormones like - estrogen, progesterone, LH, FSH etc, control a
menstrual cycle. During the cycle, the levels of hormones change required for
the various stages of the cycle. Foods we eat go through the digestive system,
which involves a number of enzymes. But it also triggers some hormones which in

level is insulin and glucagon. These two enzymes help to maintain the blood

structural resemblance to the ovarian hormones like progesterone. Due to this,
a condition has been observed in which increased insulin in the blood caused
premature ovulation. In some women it is seen that blood sugar level during ovulation is not the similar with the

cramping by breaking down the endometrial lining.
