Best sleeping positions for your baby



As part of the caring process in relation to a new born baby they would be craving for some well-deserved sleep. The sleep is indeed important and at the same time parents need to ensure the best newborn sleeping options for their little one. There is another school of thought that suggests that babies should be laid on the backs and put to sleep. This goes on to decrease the chances of sudden infant syndrome. Most times babies would fall asleep on your stomach or a soft blanket but at the same time the risk of SIDS increases considerably.


A lot of thought has gone in to the process of making kids sleep on the back. It does encourage the parents to keep their babies on the back when they sleep. Once such a strategy has been adopted the number of deaths has gone on to decrease considerably as well. When babies are known on to lie on the stomach there does arise a case where they take in more of their carbon dioxide. This does go on to become trapped between the mattress and the face. It could be very well possible that they do not have the strength in order to turn on their heads and for this reason their head will be suffocated. This has gone on to become one of the best new born sleeping positions in recent times.

At the same time you should not only put new born at the back while sleeping. It is suggested that you should continue to do it for the first year of your life. The precise reason being that the risk of sudden infant syndrome decreases considerably. The risk is all the more high during the first 6 months, so you need to adopt an attitude of caution at this point of time.

There are a set of parents who are concerned that their babies are going to formulate a flat head if they make the baby sleep at the back. But studies do have a different point to showcase as some of them pointed out that sleeping on the back would lead to flat headiness. On the other side of the coin when you sleep on the back the benefits tend to outnumber the risks. The onus would be on the parents to move the heads of the baby on a particular side and when they are being put to sleep. The obvious fact is that they would face the other side when you are making them sleep. All these facts point to an aesthetic nature. If you undertake all these ventures the chances of a flat spot developing as well. it is suggested that when babies are being put to sleep parents should go on to check on them. They should verify  the fact that the babies have gone on to roll on their stomach when they are put to sleep.

So one of the best sleeping position would be on the back.
